Liverpool have hammered Sparta Prague 6-1 to storm into the Europa League quarter-finals 11-2 on aggregate.

Juergen Klopp’s side were 4-0 up within 14 minutes at Anfield on Friday (AEDT) thanks to goals by Darwin Nunez, Bobby Clark, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.

Serbian striker Veljko Birmancevic pulled one back for the visitors before the break, but Dominik Szoboszlai scored the hosts’ fifth in the 48th minute and Gakpo netted his second of the night to complete the Reds’ rout.

“Mo is just delivering and delivering and delivering, his desire doesn’t stop, his quality is there and his desire to score doesn’t stop,” Klopp said.

Ollie Watkins (25th), Leon Bailey (60th), Jhon Duran (75th) and Moussa Diaby (81st) were on target at Villa Park.

The Villains join Fenerbahce, Fiorentina, PAOK, Olympiacos, Club Brugge, Lille and Viktoria Plzen in the quarters.
